I sit upon the Earth; palms resting softly over my heart. Her sacred seed syllable awakens within me as I sound “AH.” The gentle vibration ripples through my body, calling me home. She is my core, my compass – the directional center that guides me.

For ages, the heart has been honored as a universal symbol of intuition, divine connection, and the seat of spirit – home to our deepest emotions: love, passion, empathy. Within the body she rests at the center of our chest, a living bridge between the earthly and celestial realms, uniting the higher vibrational chakras above with the slower, denser chakras below.
Just as the physical heart draws in and sends out life-giving blood, so too can the heart energetically draw down celestial light and pull up the nourishment of the Earth, merging them at her center into one healing force that flows outward for restoration and renewal.
This sacred symbol continually calls me to deepen into my own existence – my divinity and my purpose. She invites me to know myself and to feel boldly that which is ever expanding within my heart: to be an instrument of love and peace, and to offer real compassion inward as freely as I do outward. Authenticity, fearlessness, joyfulness are among her wise teachings.
In my rituals and ceremonies, the heart is present on my altar, in jewelry I wear, and in shapes I discover in nature. My heart-shaped pendants, resting upon my chest whisper tender reminders of our secret love language – mutual care, admiration, and respect. Speak from my heart, honor my truth, and trust my heart’s wisdom, taking guided action: these are her mantras, allowing her soft smile to broaden across my chest.
One simple practice the heart has gifted me: draw a heart
shape in the sand, in soil, or in any medium that calls to you. Lie within the outline. Rest your palms over your chest. Breathe, and feel your beating heart. Allow Earth’s steady rhythm to synchronize with yours and be fearlessly willing to feel love rise all around you.
The heart comes to me everywhere – in dreams, in the curve of a leaf or petals of a flower, in the shape of a cloud or the gleam of a stone. Sometimes even in a store window, she appears as the sweet reminder to stay in my center. No matter the time or place, I accept the image as the blessing it is and take it to heart.
In honor of you, Heart – my devotional center. And so it is.
